Realme 8i Launched with Helio G96 and 50MP cameras in Nepal

Realme has launched its new smartphone Realme 8i. Realme 8i is the successor of the last year's Realme 7i. It is the mid-range smartphone and it's comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, Helio G96 chipset, 50MP cameras and up to 7GB dynamic RAM. In this post, we will be discussing the specifications, features, availability and official price of the Realme 8i in Nepal.


Realme 8i Overview

Display & Design

Firstly we talking about the display, Realme 8i features a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display along with  a screen resolution of 1080 x 2412pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Also, it has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Realme 8i has 6-level of refresh rate that you can also switch between 30/48/50/60/90/120Hz. Moreover, the panel supports a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, 401 PPI density, 600 nits peak screen brightness.  The device protected by Gorilla Glass 5. There is also a punch-hole cutout at the front that houses a selfie camera.

Realme 8i measures 164.1 x 75.5 x 8.55mm in dimensions and weighs only 194gm. It has a rectangular camera module on the back that houses a triple camera setup and a LED flash. Realme 8i designed  with polycarbonate back with a glossy  finish and phone has also a glass front, a plastic frame and a plastic back. As for biometrics security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock. The phones available in two different colors options: Space Black and Space Purple.


Camera

Moving on camera features, The Realme 8i has a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP Macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a 2MP B&W lens with an f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.1 aperture.

Talking about the videography aspect, both the rear and front cameras videos up to 1080@30fps.

Performance & Storage

On the performance side of device, Realme 8i is the first phones packs a MediaTek G96 chipset. It is an Octa-core based on a 12nm manufacturing process. As for graphics, it has Mali-G57 MC2 onboard. The Realme 8i runs on Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 OS.

The phones comes with either 4/64GB variant or 6/12GB variant. It also features a dedicated MicroSD card slot for expanding storage. There's also Realme's Dynamic RAM expansion (DRE) technology that virtually adds up to 7GB of RAM but the 4/64GB variant does not support the virtual RAM expansion.


Battery & Connectivity

Realme 8i packs monstrous 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging via a Type-C port.

As for connectivity, there is Dual-SIM, Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Bluetooth 5.1, A2DP, LE, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack etc.
