Realme is rumored to produce a successor to its premium mid-range GT Neo 3 Android smartphone.

Following the release of the Realme GT Neo 3 smartphone earlier this year, the OPPO-backed company is preparing to launch its successor, the Realme GT Neo 5 series — GT Neo 5 and GT Neo 5T.

Now, The battery specifications and charging capabilities of the two versions of the new Realme GT Neo 5 series smartphones have leaked online ahead of their official launch.

A well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the upcoming Realme GT Neo 5 smartphone will be available in two variants based on battery and charging capacity. The BLP985 is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 150W fast charging, while the BLP987 is a 4,600mAh battery that supports 240W fast charging.

According to rumors, this alleged successor to UltraDart will deliver power at up to 24W/10A, but this will be converted to 10V/24A once it reaches the actual smartphone, and each cell will support up to 12A.

Based on the leaks and reports so far, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

Additionally, the Realme GT Neo 5 series is said to have a Sony IMX890 primary camera sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support and to perform better than the Realme GT Neo 3 series. It will have a triple-camera setup on the back and a front-facing snapper with either 16MP or 32MP resolution for selfies and video calling.

Under the hood, According to the configuration of the previous generation GT Neo3, the new GT Neo5 will use MediaTek's Dimensity 8200 processor, but a Snapdragon 8+ or a lower frequency version of Snapdragon 8+ is also possible. These two processors will be the biggest rival of Dimensity 8200 next year, depending on which is more cost-effective.

But the interesting thing is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 has been officially announced, but so far Realme has not announced a new device equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2.

The device will most likely be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9-series processor, but the exact chipset is unknown. It will have up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. In terms of software, we anticipate that the phone will ship with the Android 13 operating system and the company's own Realme UI 4.0 custom user interface.

The device's launch date has not yet been revealed, but it appears that the phone will be available soon.
