Redmi Note 12 Pro launched with a 50MP camera


After a Long Time: Redmi has recently launched the Redmi Note 12 series. There are three models in the lineup: Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, and Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. There is also a Redmi Note 12 Yibo Edition variant based on the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. So, In this article, we will take a closer look at the Redmi note 12 pro with its specifications, features, availability and expected price in Nepal.

Display & Design

The Redmi Note 12 Pro like other smartphones flaunts a 6.67 inches OLED display with a FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display has supports of a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Similarly, The display also supports 1 billion colors, HDR10+ contents, Dolby Vision, 500 nits (typ), 900 nits (HBM)  supports. Furthermore, It has centre aligned punch-hole cutout design at the top centre that housing a selfie camera.
Design Wise, The device has a premuim look design finish. It features a rectangular camera module that houses a triple camera setup with a LED flash. It has also IP53 certified for dust and splash protection and has a In-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics. Moreover, The device available in a four colour options - Black, Blue, White, and Violet.

Camera

As for cameras, The Redmi Note 12 Pro features a triple camera setup at the back led by a 50MP OIS Primary camera with an aperture of f/1.9. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens with an aperture of f/1.9 and a 119-degree field of view. Completing the setup is a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4.  Similarly, On the front of the phone is a selfie camera with a 16MP camera.


Talking about the videography aspect, You can record up to 1080p videos up to 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, 720p@960fps from the rear camera, while you can only record up to 1080p videos up to 30fps from the selfie camera.


Performance & Storage

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Soc. It is an octa-core processor based on 6nm processing technology that is equipped with an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of up to 2.6GHz. For handling graphics, it has a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU.


As far as memory arrangement, The device is available in up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM along with up to 256GB UFS 2.2 of internal storage memory configuration. Likewise, the smartphone runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12.
 


Battery & Connectivity

The Redmi Note 12 Pro packs a 5000mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging. According to the company, the 67W charger charges 100% battery in just 46 minutes. As for biometrics, the phone unlocks via a Fingerprint (under display, optical), scanner and supports Face Unlock.

In China, the Redmi Note 12 pro is priced at ¥1,699 for the 6GB + 128 GB variant, ¥1,799 for the 8 GB + 128GB, ¥1,999 for the 8GB + 256GB and ¥2,199 for the 12 GB + 256GB. If it launches in Nepal, we expect the Redmi Note 12 pro to start at around NPR 30,999.
