Tecno unveils Phantom X2 series's with Dimensity 9000 chipset and only X2 Pro with retractable portrait lens
Today, Tecno has officially unveiled Tecno's premium Phantom X2 series today with a new camera innovations and a very powerful chipset. There are two phones, one of which brings the first retractable portrait camera. The lineup consists of two models, the Tecno Phantom X2 and the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro. These devices are the brand's first true premium flagship smartphones.
Both the devices share almost all the specs but the phones differ only in terms of cameras. Let's take a look at its specifications, features, availability and expected price.
The Dimensity 9000 powers the both Tecno Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro (the non-plus version). It is leagues ahead of the Helio G95 featured in the original Phantom X because it is a 4nm processor from TSMC's foundry and uses current technology (Cortex-X2 prime CPU core, three A710, four A510, and a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU). The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro contains 12 GB of RAM, compared to the vanilla's 8 GB. Both devices support UFS 3.1 storage up to 256 GB.
Tecno Phantom X2 Series Specifications:
The X2 series features a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 360Hz, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The 10-bit panel can cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, has a centered punch-hole, and Also, the display is more secure now that it is guarded by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Tecno Phantom X2 series has a distinct design. These phones are easily distinguished by their centrally located large camera island on the back. To distinguish it from the vanilla variant, the pro model has a colored ring around one of its cameras.
The both phones are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. A vapor chamber cooling system, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage are included with the SoC. In terms of software, they boot HiOS 12.0, which is based on Android 12.
The main highlight of the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro is a 50MP Samsung JN1 retractable portrait camera with 2.5x zoom and an f/1.49 aperture lens. This camera is paired with a 50MP Samsung GNV primary camera and a 13MP Samsung 3L6 ultra-wide camera with macro vision support that also functions as a macro camera because it has auto focus. The Phantom X2 Pro features an exclusive decorative ring around its retractable portrait lens, which is exclusive to the Phantom X2 Pro.
Autofocus is supported by all three cameras. However, none of them have OIS.
Both handsets have a single 32MP selfie camera (the same as the Camon 19 Pro) and are powered by a 5,160mAh battery. Last but not least, they have 45W fast wired charging support.
Dual SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, NFC, and USB 2.0 are among the connectivity options available on the smartphones (Type-C). They don't have dual stereo speakers, but they do have an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Tecno Phantom X2 Series Price and Availability
The Phantom X2 Pro is available in Mars Orange (also available in an Ec-Friendly edition with recycled plastics for the back cover) and Stardust Grey. Also, The vanilla X2 is also available in Stardust Grey and Moonlight Silver.

The X2 series will be available for purchase in the coming weeks. We currently only have pricing for Saudi Arabia; the Phantom X2 costs SAR 2,700 ($720/€685/₹59,000) and the Phantom X2 costs is SAR 3,500 ($930/€885/₹76,700).
